Short note about anything music that makes me shout, "holykaw!"

Black Tide will never give you a chance to breath!

Last night I played TapTapRevenge and I got bored with all songs that I already have.  I check free downloadable song, and found a song called Warrior of Time by the band called Black Tide.

I have no idea about Black Tide whatsoever, but I have a feeling this song is gonna be fun to play, and it is! I even stopped before the vocals come out! Holykaw! it is just the intro part but they notoriously attacking on me! straight to my face! and I cannot fight back! I'm a loser! boooo!
But instead of shut the game off, I kept the song rolled out without hitting any notes. And guess what.... HOLYKAW! This song is amazing. I knew it when first I heard those accoustic intro. A huge feeling of it.

This morning, with a "magic finger helps", I've listened to all songs in the Light From Above album from Black Tide.
Light From Above is actually their first album, released in 2008, which, since they was formed in 2004.
As my ear listening to 11 songs in Light From Above, It's complete-full-packed heavy metal from A-Z and I've got "pissed-off" with them because they didn't gave me any chance to took even a short-quick breath between songs. Gee.

In short words, I believe Black Tide is a promising to become a new star in heavy metal scene.
Definitely can't wait for their next release. Black Tide's Light From Above is very recommended to all of you metalhead, who miss old glory-ness of heavy metal.
They'd succeed bring that moment back. so far. period.

Andrew Maury and RAC

It began a couple of weeks ago when I found an interestingly nice website called The Sixty One, the music website that give you unique approach to find a new music (I'll write about this site later). By the way, on that site I've found a remix of "Trouble is a Friend", originally played by Lenka. First time I hear the song, it blows my mind. I even never heard the artist name before, but I read the song made by a guy called "Andrew Maury/RAC". In my opinion, the remixed bring a new approach to the song without losing the original touch spirit of it. One thing on the remixed version that stuck in my mind is the sound of the bass. It kind of cool dry and distortion low-end sound with cool notes progression. What I think by that time is open Google and search for Andrew Maury for sure :)

After a couple of minutes I found Andrew Maury's site. As i found on the site, actually "RAC" mean Remix Artist Collective, which is pretty cool name i think. Browsing the whole site and listening to a couple of Maury's remixes, i can found those dry-distortion bass almost on every song remixed by him. Then I can tell, those dry-distortion bass sound could be a Maury's signature sound. I REALLY LOVE THOSE BASS SOUND! :)

You can also listen to Maury's remixes on his site, from Phoenix to Tokyo Police Club, from Radiohead to Arcade Fire. And other things that makes me excited is Maury's remixes on Nintendo Vs Sega EP that included Zelda theme song remixed! Holykaw!

P.S: Before I wrote this post, I've also tweet about Maury's many times. For my twitter followers, please don't get bored of it :)

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - It's Blitz!

Yeah Yeah Yeahs 3rd album, It's Blitz! in my opinion is not quite powerful compared to their previous two albums. They seems a 'lil bit turning down their music into more calm and serious. As i listened, only a couple songs that have energetic beat like Zero, Shame and Fortune and Soft Shock, although it's not energetic enough like many of their songs on Show Your Bones. But on the other way, this album is proofed that they still want to exist and the show us that their music are getting grow up.

Edguy - Tinnius Sanctus

Tinnitus Sanctus is a eight album from Germany band, Edguy, released on 2008. Formed in 1992, this power metal band is absolutely awesome. Listening to this album today is like bringing you back in the 90's era of metal, when hair metal, hard rock and (of course) power metal are standing in the front line of rock/metal scene.

Like others power metal style, the rhythm and melodic progression, high-tone vocal, but with sometimes ridiculous lyrics is the main part of Edguy differentiations.

If you're now always listening to todays metal genre, then I'll recommend you to listen to this album for the sake of refreshing your ears. And it works, at least for me.

Wolfmother - S.T

This album was released on 2006, and I just know a couple weeks ago *duh!* but incase you not yet listened to it, here's I tell you: YOU MUST LISTEN TO IT NOW! You will not regret to listen to this album!

For a couple years, many of Australian bands are keeps me amazed, especially in the rock genre and it subs. Wolfmother is one of them that make me always says *goddamnit* every time I listened to them.

Wolfmother is perfect combination of hard rock and heavy metal. Well blended between Led Zepplin, The White Stripes, Pink Flyod and The Who.

PsyOpus - Our Puzzling Encounters Considered

People called it Avant-Garde Metal, but for me it's Technical-Experimental-MathDeathMetal. Complex genre name huh? It is. Exactly like their music if you already listened to them. This Metal Blade's 'special newborn baby' is considered huge threat for experimental metal scene. They now doing Metal Blade Young Guns Tour 2009 together with Rose Funeral, Woe of Tyrants and Molotov Solution. A quartet from Rochester, New York is had a psychotic music that will blow your mind instantly from the first note. On January 2009 they've released 'Odd Senses', their 3rd full-length album. I haven't heard it yet. But I definitely will.
